UAP Brunei Chapter Formation Timeline


8 November 2013

First General Assembly was held to initiate the process of forming the Brunei Chapter. The meeting was presided by Wario C. Tacbad and was attended by 21 architects. The required forms for membership were distributed to the architects.

Succeeding meetings were held to complete the requirements for chapter formation.

9 April 2014

The UAP National Board approved the formation of the UAP Brunei Chapter as the 135th chapter of the UAP under district B-3 through the sponsorship of the UAP Makati CBD Chapter.

1 May 2014

An election for interim chapter officers was held with the following voted in their positions: Wario C. Tacbad, President; Ma. Christina G. Esclabanan-Bajarias, VP-Programs and Development; Neil R. Rutor, VP-Operations; Nina L. Torregosa, Secretary; Domini N. Cordova, Treasurer; Noel R. Consular, Auditor. A committee was also formed for the preparation of the Charter Presentation and Inauguration Ceremonies lead by Rey Anthony I. Castillo and Hernando J. Hautea, Jr., who were also appointed as directors.

16 May 2014

The first Executive Board meeting was held led by the Chapter President Wario C. Tacbad. The general outline of activities for the fiscal year was laid out putting emphasis on the preparation for the inauguration ceremonies. Also highlighted in the discussion was the project for the year which was to initiate board review classes for the underboards.

29 May 2014

Chapter President Wario C. Tacbad, together with VP for Operations Neil R. Rutor, made a courtesy call to the President of the Filipino Association in Brunei, Edel B. Bartholomew, to discuss the formation of the chapter under the umbrella of the said association.

4 August 2014

The Executive Board along with 2 chapter members made a courtesy call to the Ambassador of the Philippines to Brunei to introduce the UAP Brunei Chapter formally to the consulate. In the meeting, the plans and activities of the chapter for its members were discussed. His Excellency Nestor Z. Ochoa encouraged the chapter to register under the umbrella of the Filipino Association in Brunei. The Ambassador also welcomed the cooperation of the chapter and the consulate in future activities for the Filipino community.

On the same day, the Chapter President met with the Vice President and Chairman of the Architects Division of Pertubuhan Ukur Jurutera & Arkitek, Siti Rozaimeriyanty DSLJ Hj Abd Rahman, to introduce the UAP Brunei Chapter and discuss possible partnerships between the two organizations in future activities.
