UAP 40th Anniversary Dinner

UAP Brunei Chapter was one with the UAP in the celebration of its 40th Founding Anniversary through a simultaneous GMM held on 26 March 2015. The UAP Brunei Chapter held a simple celebratory dinner to commemorate the founding of the UAP as well as to culminate its major Chapter project, the ALE Review Classes. The GA reviewers were also invited to celebrate with the members.

The celebratory dinner was opened by an invocation led by Ar. Noel Consular, Chapter Auditor. In the following welcome remarks, Chapter VP for Operations Ar. Neil Rutor briefly spoke of how the UAP emerged from the merging of three professional organizations which existed before 1975. He said that the unification process is still on-going and achieving total unity will empower the architectural profession. He encouraged the members to be part of the UAP’s programs to Empower the Profession, Equip the Architect, and Enjoin the Organization by actively participating in chapter projects and activities.

The members and guests then viewed the video presentation on “The Unwritten History of Filipino Architects” which showed the history of the UAP.

After the dinner, the Chapter held a short recognition ceremony for members who gave significant contribution to the ALE Review Classes by offering their time as lecturers. Certificates of Appreciation were presented to the lecturers in recognition of their special contribution to the Chapter project.

The top 10 performers in the ALE Review Classes Mock-up Exams were also recognized. The Committee on Education, chaired by the Chapter VP for Programs and Development Ar. Marie Christina Esclabanan-Bajarias, was also commended for their tireless effort throughout the duration of the review classes.

Another milestone was also celebrated by the Chapter that night as three more members were officially welcomed to the Chapter which brings the roster to 33 good standing members.

Ar. Marie Christina Esclabanan-Bajarias ended the night thanking the unselfish dedication of her committee members, the volunteer lecturers and family for the support during the ALE Review Classes. In her closing remarks, she also highlighted that the Chapter was now a part of the commemorative celebration of the UAP 40th Founding Anniversary.
