UAP Brunei Celebrates National Architecture Week 2017
In advance celebration of the National Architecture Week 2017 with the theme Ugnayan + Kultura , the Chapter has successfully organized for the third straight year the activity titled “Sketchwalk 3 – Pen & Ink Drawing” which was held at the recently opened “Eco-Corridor Park”, a recreational area situated at the country’s capital Bandar Seri Begawan.
In his welcoming remarks, Ar. Alan F. Filio, Chapter President thanked the attending members for the support they has shown for the annual event. He added that the Chapter may also look to consider holding the future Sketchwalk event in places like Temburong and Kuala Belait districts in order to have a more complete coverage of the country's scenic spots. Furthermore, all drawings/sketches from the Chapter’s previous Sketchwalk activities could be compiled into one book for possible release during the Chapter’s 5th Anniversary milestone.
Moving forward to the activity, the mechanics were simple and straightforward. The participating members were divided into four groups thru draw lots and were assigned at four different scenic views/locations pre-selected by the organizing committee. The allowed medium to be used shall be pen & ink and has to be drawn to an A3 size paper. Submission of drawings/ sketches was set at 10:45 AM at Yayasan Complex KFC branch.

Group 1 (Along Sungai Kebun Bridge and Water Village) –

Group 2 ( Along Yayasan Complex and Grandstand) –

Group 3 ( Along Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque and DST Building) –

Group 4 (Along Bandar Bridge and the Magistrate Building) –

Once again, the UAP Brunei National Architecture Week event celebration was spearheaded by the Committee on External Affairs headed by its Director Ar. Christian Lester R. Serrano. The above activity started around 7:30 AM and ended at 11:00 AM. A total of 24 members out of 39 members attended the event with one participant from Graduate Auxiliaries. Accompanying the Committee on External Affairs in the judging process will be the Chapter’s Sketchwalk "Hall of Famers” Ar’s. Reynaldo M. Ramos and Hernando J. Hautea Jr. The winners will be announced in due course.
