UAP Brunei Attends World Autism Awareness Day 2019

The United Architects of the Philippines Brunei Chapterled by its Chapter President Reynaldo M. Ramos has attended the official launching ceremony of hydroponics farm setup by the Society for the management of autism at its centre in Sungai Hanching upon the kind invitation from Smarter Brunei. The official launch also coincided with World Autism Awareness Day celebrated every 2nd of April with this year’s theme “Assistive Technologies, Active Participation”.

Notable attendees thatgraced the ceremony were Major General(Rtd.)Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister for Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and Shri Malai Hj Abdullah Bin Hj Malai Othman, President and CEO of Smarter Brunei. The ceremony was also attended by students from Smarter Brunei, Volunteer groups, PBC, UAP Brunei and former students from Institute of Brunei Technical Education(IBTE).

After the ceremony, the launching of the Smarter Brunei and Tel Bru hydroponic garden has been toured around by the delegates inorder to have much closer look of the green houses.

Further, in conjunction with this noble project, a bowling tourney entitled “1st Smarter Charity Bowling Event” will hold several pre-bowling games ahead of the main event on 28 April 2019 to be held at Grand Seria Bowling Center in Seria, Brunei. The foremost objective aims to generate funds for Smarter Brunei. The bowling games are presently organized by the Pinoy Bowlers Club(PBC) in collaboration with UAP Brunei Chapter and supported by the Filipino Association (FA). Results of the games will be reported in due course. The Chapter considers this activity as one of its major CSR projects for FY2018-19,

The ceremony started at 7:30 AM and has ended at around 11:30AM.
