The United Architects of the Philippines Brunei Chapter attended the 121st Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Philippine Independence last 09 June 2019 at the Philippine Embassy grounds, Brunei Darussalam. This has made possible thru the kind invitation from the Cultural Office of the Philippine Embassy. Leading the contingent from the chapter was Ar. Dominic N. Cordova, incoming chapter president along with him were Ar. Christheart Anthony B. Corral, incoming VP for Operations, Ar. Romeo J. Nabong II, incoming chapter secretary, Ar. Orville J. Dulce, incoming chapter treasurer and Ar. Albert M. Abarintos, incoming chapter auditor. Other chapter members in attendance as well were Ar. Rey Anthony I. Castillo, Ar. Yolito I. Amante, Outgoing Chapter Director for Committee on Membership and Amelito R. De Sena.
Aside from the Independence Day proclamation, another highlight of the event was the meet & greet portion for the new Philippine Ambassador His Excellency Christopher B. Montero. The Filipino community was well represented with the attendance from various groups (professional & non-professionalorganizations) and especially from the OFWs working from different private companies and households were also present to personally see and meet the new PH ambassador. During the meet & greet, the chapter made a short introduction to H.E. Montero. In general, the Embassy looks forward to continue working together under the new PH Ambassador.
The New Philippine Ambassador was born in 1972 and hails from the province of Pangasinan. He was a graduate of BA degree in History at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Prior his tour of duty to Brunei, he was the former ambassador of the Philippines to the Kingdom of Cambodia from 2014-2018. He will serve as the 10th Philippine Ambassador to the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam.
