UAP Brunei Holds Car-boot Sale

The United Architects of the Philippines Brunei Chapter held a carboot sale on the 1st of December 2019 at the Mabohai Shopping Center Carpark, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam to raise funds for chapter programs and activities. The carboot sale started from the early hours of 4:30 am until just after 9 am on Sunday where shoppers excitedly browsed to find good bargain.

The chapter members pooled in their pre-loved items from houseware, kids toys, clothing and dvds for the carboot sale. The activity was organized by the Committee on Internal Affairs led by Ar. Claire De Guzman Franco. Members who assisted in the carboot sale were Ar. Niña Lao Torregosa, Ar. Christian Lester Serrano, Ar. Kelly Tajonera, Ar. Marious Anyayahan and Chapter President Ar. Dominic Cordova.

As part of the Chapter’s efforts in corporate social responsibility, portion of the donated pre-loved items were donated to SMARTER Brunei to support their thrift shop. SMARTER Brunei is a family support organization for families with family members with autism. Earlier this year, UAP Brunei Chapter organized a bowling tournament in cooperation with Pinoy Bowlers Club to raise funds for SMARTER Brunei. Smarter Brunei’s Ms. Ma. Lourdes Radovan, Deputy Director for Clinical Practices, accepted the Chapter’s small donation.
